Health Insurance
Health Insurance
Health insurance pays for the cost of medical care if you are hospitalized with an illness or accident. Medical health insurance must cover the cost of preventive care services for all individuals insured on a health plan.
Types of Health Insurance
Individual & Family Plans
Health Insurance purchase through the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act, ObamaCare. These plans offer a tax credit for people who qualify to help reduce the cost of health insurance premiums.
Individuals and Families who receive a tax credit must report and file a 1095 form on their Federal Income Tax return.
Health Insurance through an Employer
Group health insurance coverage is offered through an employer, covering multiple employees and family members under one contract. Generally, these group plans have no preexisting conditions requirements for fully insured contracts, and last for one year as long as premiums are paid.
Level-funded group plans have different requirements and may be subject to some underwriting of the group’s individuals in exchange for lower premiums.
